PDX Photographers Dinner

The wonderful Kali Martin, Owner and Culinary Extraordinaire of Bird is the Word, had the idea to host an evening of good food and conversation for the photographers in our lives. She wanted it to be an event just for them after a long summer of behind the scenes work at weddings and all the hours of editing photos! She asked me if I wanted to be a part of it and, of course, I said yes! Our little team consisted of 2 other lovely ladies, one who made delectable deserts and one who helped run the show. The night was captured by two talented photographers Kira and Bryan, and as you can see by their photos, it was a great evening!

I took the opportunity of this small intimate event to do fully foraged arrangements. It is rare that I get to call the shots for a full event. It was challenging but exciting to find foliage to arrange with during the fall/winter season. As you can see, I was able to combine color-changing leaves with berries, twigs and grasses. Some of the specific elements were Oak-Leaf Hydrangea, Love Grass, Manzanita Flowers, Oregon Grape Leaves and Magnolia Branches. I was also able to forage wintered ivy vines with their berries to hang from the ceiling. I look forward to many more events that I can do this for!
